Strategic Directions
At the Center for Coastal Solutions, we’re developing and delivering the best available solutions-oriented science and technology. To get us there, we have identified four priorities and associated goals that will focus our work for the next three years.
1. Deliver advanced coastal intelligence and decision aids
Our center is developing a Coastal Decision Support System to guide our research and technology development priorities, developing and scaling next-gen technologies and deepening key partnerships to deliver new tools to tackle coastal hazards.
2. Increase visibility and demonstrate impact
To maximize visibility and demonstrate impact, we share CCS stories that highlight the benefits of our work to coastal communities, expand stakeholder reach and leverage networks to promote shared successes.
3. Create a caring, collaborative culture
Our center fosters the next generation of leaders by recruiting and empowering students and new talent, providing experiential learning opportunities and engaging our advisory board and affiliate faculty deeply in our mission.
4. Shore up program and financial resiliency
To secure a resilient financial future, we focus on diversifying funding sources through targeted fundraising, developing commercial opportunities for application of new products and collaborating with partners to secure grant opportunities.
